PerfectSmile Vs Braces
PerfectSmile is a more convenient and discreet way to straighten your smile without the need for braces. With PerfectSmile, you’ll wear a set of clear, medical-grade plastic aligners that work to gradually align your teeth into position. Unlike braces, there aren’t any uncomfortable brackets or wires that need to be adjusted and nothing will distort the image of your smile.
Cleaning your teeth with braces can be a hassle, but with PerfectSmile, you can easily remove the aligners and clean your teeth as you normally would. Best of all, you’ll begin to see results within about two to three months.
PerfectSmile can correct a variety of orthodontic problems including:
- Crooked teeth
- Overbite/underbite
- Crowded teeth
- Crossbite
- Gaps between teeth
PerfectSmile offers several benefits that other orthodontics methods lack and it’s helped many of our patients get the straighter smiles they desire. To determine if PerfectSmiles is right for you, it’s best to schedule a consultation with Dr. Kosinski.
The Process to a PerfectSmile
During your consultation, Dr. Kosinski will examine your mouth to determine if you’re a good candidate for PerfectSmile. Then he will discuss your treatment plan. At this time, Dr. Kosinski may also take photographs of your teeth, face, and mouth and take an impression of your teeth which will be used to craft your aligners.
When your aligners arrive, you’ll want to wear them around the clock to ensure optimal results. You’ll swap them out about every two weeks to allow the new set to gradually move your teeth into position. Dr. Kosinski recommends scheduling appointments about every six weeks to ensure you’re on track with your treatment plan.
Caring for Your PerfectSmile Aligners
For optimal results, you’ll want to follow a regular oral hygiene routine. In addition to regular brushing and flossing, you’ll want to:
- Rinse your aligners before putting them back into your mouth
- Remove your aligners prior to brushing and flossing
- Frequently wash your aligners with warm water and antibacterial soap
- Remove your aligners prior to eating or drinking anything
- Avoid hot liquids when you’re wearing your aligners because it may warp them
