Your Implant Consultation
in Bingham Farms

Dear Patient

We realize that a great deal of information is given at the time of your dental implant consultation. Some patients find it difficult to remember the details of our conversation, particularly if more than one dentist is consulted. Please review this consultation overview if you have any questions regarding your upcoming appointment or simply forget what we had discussed.

A Lasting Solution to Tooth Loss

dental implant special home

Dental implants are a highly successful restorative treatment that restores an entire mouth’s strength, function, and appearance.

They’re placed in the jaw bone to simulate the root of the tooth so they can successfully support a tooth restoration.

Implants are made of titanium, a biocompatible material used in orthopedics for joint replacements. This metal integrates very well with human bone and tissue, allowing your jawbone to receive proper stimulation from the new tooth.

Dr. Kosinski’s Implant Knowledge

Dr. Kosinski has lectured all around the country, heard about new studies from other doctors, and has significantly read a great deal of literature about implants.

We want you to know that dental implants have a 95 percent success rate, depending on where they’re placed and how well they’re maintained. What does this mean? Well, to be a statistical success in medicine, the results must last at least five years after treatment.

Our team at SmileCreator is dedicated to discovering why 5 percent of dental implants don’t heal properly and result in failure. Dr. Kosinski will work hand-in-hand with each individual to ensure that every part of their implant procedure is safe and successful.

Your Initial Consultation

Generally, placing dental implants isn’t a complex procedure. For some patients whose oral health is extremely poor, a prior procedure to restore their oral health may be required. Once Dr. Kosinski has determined you’re a good candidate for dental implants, we’ll begin your implant journey by scheduling your first appointment.

  • We’ll begin by numbing the area to ensure the process is as comfortable as possible.
  • A small incision is made in the gum tissue to expose the bone so we can attach your implant.
  • Then we use a small drill, gradually moving to a larger drill until an opening for the necessary implant size is created.
  • Just like your natural tooth root, we always try our best to use the longest and widest implant we can for the available space.

We Can Help Ease Your Anxiety

We offer intravenous sedation in this office if you prefer to doze off during the procedure.

A small butterfly needle is placed in your arm, and small amounts of Valium and Demerol are administered slowly throughout your surgery. You’ll feel ultimate relaxation, but won’t be completely asleep. If you are asked to open your eyes or turn your head you’ll be capable of doing so.

Instead of feeling apprehensive about what’s going on around you, you may just drift off into a light daze with no worries. Most patients lose track of time and are a little surprised to find we are finished.

After your implant procedure, it’s important to properly care for the area to ensure both short and long-term success. Dr. Kosinski has provided our patients with post-op dental implant care for you to follow.

Testimonials

My new “flipper” has changed my life for better. It fits perfect and it is great to be able to eat other foods than eggs. Going out in the public and smiling is something I appreciate more than I ever have. Dr. K and the impression lady (can’t remember her name) did excellent work. A very special thank you to you. Without your help and understanding I would not be writing this. I am so grateful. Steven
Thank you so much for your careful attention and dedication to my beautiful implants. I feel so pretty. My self confidence and self esteem has just rose by leaps and bounds.
God bless you. You have certainly made a difference in my life. Jackie

Do you offer free dental implant consultations?

Here at Smile Creator of Bingham Farms, we offer free consultations for our dental implant procedures. We want our patients to feel confident in the treatment they receive, and we understand that having multiple consultations is a key factor in choosing a trustworthy implant dentist.

During your free implant consultation, we’ll provide you with all the necessary information to help you make the right decision for your smile.

What happens during my implant consultation?

During your dental implant consultation, Dr. Kosinski will discuss your smile goals with you, go over your medical history, and map out the process for you to better understand.

After that, he will need to perform an oral exam and take dental x-rays of your mouth so he can see if you’re a viable candidate for dental implants. He will check the health of your gums and surrounding teeth, plus look to see if you obtain sufficient bone density.

Once he examines your mouth, he will create a more personalized treatment plan for your smile. This provides you with exactly how many implants you need and whether or not a supplemental procedure is necessary.

Do I need to bring anything to my implant consultation?

When you visit for your dental implant consultation, generally we recommend that patients bring a record of their medical history and insurance. This way we can provide you with a better treatment plan and a more accurate estimate of your entire costs.

However, if you forget these items, don’t worry at all. If you decide to choose us for your dental implant procedure, we can evaluate these documents at your first appointment.

If you have any questions concerning the procedure please contact Dr. Kosinski or one of the staff. The staff is very well educated and can answer most questions. If they cannot Dr. Kosinski will come to the phone or set up a time for you to discuss your concerns. You can reach us by phone at 248-646-8651, or by email at allquestions@smilecreator.net.
