Dental Bonding in Bingham Farms, MI

Non-Invasive Tooth Enhancement

Damaged teeth can make it hard to eat, speak, and smile comfortably, affecting self-esteem and confidence. That’s why Dr. Kosinski offers a gentle, non-invasive solution to fix any damage or cosmetic flaws to your teeth: dental bonding.

Dental bonding is a solution that dentists frequently use to help restore and prevent damage or cover cosmetic problems. Our dental team works hard to customize your bonding solution, so it’ll blend seamlessly into your smile.

Why We Use Dental Bonding

Dental bonding can repair chipped, broken, or cracked teeth, as well as fixing gaps between teeth and adjusting their shape. The bond is made of a composite resin that we’ll color-match to your natural teeth to blend seamlessly with your smile.

Our Bingham Farms dentist recommends dental bonding for patients who want to:

  • Restore decayed teeth
  • Repair chipped or cracked teeth
  • Brighten stained or discolored teeth
  • Minimize spaces between teeth
  • Lengthen teeth
  • Reshape teeth
  • Cover exposed tooth roots

Benefits of Dental Bonding

Dr. Kosinski has several reasons why he trusts bonding to help his patients, including:

  • Quick Procedure — Dental bonding usually takes just one visit.
  • Affordable Solution — This procedure is one of the most inexpensive dental treatments.
  • Minimally Invasive — This non-surgical procedure is painless and requires no extra maintenance.
  • Versatile — Our dental resin is durable and flexible, allowing Dr. Kosinski to use the procedure for many cosmetic and preventative treatments.
  • Long-lasting — Your dental bonding treatment can last up to 10 years with the proper oral health care.

Bonding Your Teeth

We can typically complete the dental bonding process in just one appointment at our Bingham Farms, MI office.

Preparation
Bonding
How Long Does It Take?
Preparation
There’s hardly anything you need to do before we begin your treatment. For added comfort and convenience, we offer sedation dentistry for patients who need it, but this step is rarely necessary for dental bonding. Many people who often benefit from sedation have decayed or broken teeth that expose or are close to the tooth root.
Bonding
Your dental resin is custom-designed to ensure it blends seamlessly with your natural smile. Once we’ve found the perfect match, we’ll place the solution on your tooth. The material will then bond with the tooth, and we’ll smooth it to fit your desired shape. We’ll finish the quick process by brushing a polishing treatment over the tooth. After that, you’ll leave our office with a bright smile that you’ll love to share with your friends and family.
How Long Does It Take?
For many patients, the bonding procedure can be completed within one appointment. The procedure usually takes between 30 to 60 minutes per tooth. The total time of treatment depends on the number of teeth being bonded. Fortunately, we don’t have to use dental molds, so once the bonding procedure is complete, you can show off your stunning new smile.

Care For Your Teeth

Vigilant oral care is the best way to extend the longevity of your bonded tooth.

Here are Dr. Kosinski’s tips for increasing your tooth’s lifespan:

  • Brush your teeth twice a day
  • Floss your teeth daily
  • Avoid coffee and tobacco products to avoid staining
  • Avoid hard candy
  • Avoid biting your nails
  • Visit our office every six months

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s involved in getting dental bonding?
Are there any risks associated with dental bonding?

What’s involved in getting dental bonding?

Little preparation is needed for a dental bonding procedure. In most cases, we won’t use anesthesia unless the crack or chip is near a nerve or if the tooth needs to be reshaped.

First, Dr. Kosinksi will choose a composite resin that matches the color of your natural tooth.

He’ll then apply a solution to the surface of the tooth so it becomes rough, which will help the material stay in place. The resin is then applied to the tooth, molded, and smoothed to a perfect shape.

Once the resin is applied, Dr. Kosinksi will use ultraviolet light or laser to harden the material and further trim and polish it to perfection. From there, you can leave with a newly restored smile.

Are there any risks associated with dental bonding?

No, there are no risks with dental bonding. It is a completely safe procedure.

Keep in mind that dental bonding doesn’t resist stains.
